ARE YOU A PARAMORMAL INVESTIGATOR?

The Octagon House of Fond du Lac has been host to numerous research groups! Share stories and discuss the colorful history of the home and it's spiritual residents! This family project since 1975 has proffered hauntings and unexplained occurrences since from the first day of ownership! With 9 passageways, including an underground tunnel, this 12 room home holds secrets revealed only to a select few. Once used as an Indian Fort and trading post, then as a safe house for runaway slaves during the civil war, this site has seen many lost souls. While the home has been preserved for its curious architecture, one cannot deny the voices in the walls.

Visited by the History Channel, psychics, mediums, and tourists who just seem to be 'in tune' with the house, the spirits have made their presence known to visitors from all over the world! Some hear voices or feel chilled, some have felt a static electric atmosphere, and others have even been made instantly sick! More fortunate guests have felt the house to be enveloping, with a sense of total warmth and comfort. It could happen to you!

Will you see ghosts?

Please bear in mind that although phenomenon occur quite often, we cannot be responsible for supernatural activity, or lack thereof. As ghosts are unpredictable by nature, we also cannot be liable for anything that might occur to your person or equipment during the visit.

As a privately owned and funded project dedicated to historical preservation, there are, of course rules.

There is a minimum house charge of $400, or $100 per person, whichever is greater. Maximum of 8 brave souls. The standard time allotment is 4 hours. House curfew is 11 PM.

For the truly brave: Visits that extend beyond 11 PM are considered overnight stays and there will be an additional charge of $50 per person to stay until 7 AM. Overnight stays are limited to 2 persons per bedroom. Please plan on sleeping bags or a bedroll, as the vintage furnishings are not intended for daily use. Overnight guests for any reason are expected to leave the house, with their equipment, before 7 AM.

During the research process there will be no drilling, nailing, or taping to the walls or furniture. All equipment used must respect the historical nature of the property, and leave no trace when removed.

A docent will be available during the visitation process, including overnight stays.

We hope that you will not only be fascinated by the house itself, and its colorful past, but enjoy your paranormal research experience. Remember, the world of ghost-hunting is an adventure! Bring confidence, and an open mind. The unexplained is waiting for you!

Kindly, make reservations at least 1 week in advance. (A deposit is required.)

Coffee, juice, and treats are provided on request, for our guests.

Happy Ghost Hunting! Marlene Hansen
